When a solving technique is said to be suitable for pencil and paper (P&P) solvers, the technique can be performed without the use of computer programs. In theory, every technique could be P&P, but for practical purposes, we should only include techniques that use no more than the pencilmark grid and the margins. Certainly no extra sheets of paper.
